Is it easy to get around the Museum?
Yes. We do what we can to make it really easy for everyone:
- The Museum is accessible for disabled people (see the separate page for details)
- There are ramps and/or lifts to the upper floors
- There are benches in the galleries so you can rest your legs
What about babies and toddlers?
Start them young. We also provide:
- Places to store pushchairs and buggies
- A baby care room which can accommodate a pushchair or wheelchair
- Milk/baby food warming in the café
What other facilities are there?
- Coat hanging facilities
- Information set at heights suitable for children and wheelchair users
- Multi-language literature
- Museum Shop
Can I bring my dog?
We welcome Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf throughout the Museum. Sadly there are no facilities for other dogs to be left outside safely.
Can I get something to eat?
The Waterside Cafe is an ideal point to stop off and enjoy a drink or snack
- Spectacular views over Falmouth's historic harbour
- Daily vegetarian options
- Open to museum visitors and to all members
- Available for corporate hire or special events (see venue hire for more information about hiring the cafe facilities for private functions)
Can I take photographs?
You are welcome to take photographs for non-commercial purposes and without the use of tripods throughout the Museum.
What about commercial photography?
The Museum contains many objects the copyright of which is complex and held by other institutions. For this reason, commercial photography is not permitted anywhere in the Museum, except with the written permission of The Director or Head of Marketing.
All such photography will become the copyright of National Maritime Museum Cornwall, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
