Creepy Cornwall

21 – 29 October 2017

A fun packed week of creative activities and events this October half term

We’re always a family favourite during October half term. Annually the Learning Team put on 118 days of activities, from story-telling to make-and-takes, dress up and lots more, and this half term the theme is Creepy Cornwall offering lots of drawing, craft-making and a chance to get really creative at the ‘Make and Takes’ table which runs daily between 12.00 and 1515. On Tuesday 24 October the much loved Squashbox Theatre presents ‘Skillywidden’ – a celebration of the wildlife and faery myths of Cornwall, and ‘Thorsday!’ is back on Thursday 26 October, join Seawolves our tame band of Vikings and discover what Viking combat was really like in these really interactive sessions. Are you brave enough to take your place in the shield wall? The ‘Awesome Adventurers’  Play Zone is also open daily: join the crew of HMS Adventure to explore the Pacific Islands in our brand-new Play Zone. Plus, live performance, storytelling and new craft activities every week during the school holidays.

And all the family favourites…

15 galleries over four floors, Jump aboard the boats, Climb the 100 foot Look Out Tower, Watch shipwrights at work in the boat building workshop, Go under water in the Tidal Zone, Hear ocean adventures + survival stories, Learn to sail miniature boats on our waterfront boat pool

Mum’s and Dad’s

Adults are running out of time to see the highly acclaimed and award winning British Tattoo Art Revealed exhibition and Captain Bligh: Myth, Man and Mutiny exhibition which explores what happened after the Mutiny on the Bounty. Both close on 7 January 2018 so there are less than 3 months left to see these excellent exhibitions.

Amazing views from the Cafe

With spectacular views over Falmouth’s magnificent harbour, the museum’s Waterside Cafe is a popular port of call for museum visitors offering a range of home-made sandwiches, pasties and cakes.

Don’t forget you can pay once, get in free all year!

In a nutshell:

Video: Top 10 things to do with kids at the museum

We’re renowned for being a museum that says ‘Climb Aboard’ rather than ‘Don’t touch!’ and this video sums up in 60 seconds why we scooped The Telegraph Britain’s Most Family Friendly Museum Award a few years back… and why we’re always a family favourite every school holiday.

Every year our Learning team put on 118 days of activities, from story-telling to make-and-takes, dress up and lots more.

Don’t forget you can pay once, get in free all year!
