Major new exhibition with objects + insights never seen in the UK8 March 2018 - 7 January 2019
If ye be brave enough, follow the map… through the smugglers cave…2018
Through our exhibitions programme we aspire to bring new and diverse perspectives to maritime issues, and highlight their relevance to the present day. We also bring rare objects from around the world to Cornwall to tell local, national and international stories.
Your admission fee is reinvested back into the museum to enhance and grow our work, which also includes our family learning activities; our award winning education programmes; our boat building and conservation; and our work to preserve and promote Cornwall’s maritime heritage.
We thank you for your support and hope you enjoy your visit.
We are an independent museum and charity, reliant on our admission fees and gift aid, as we are not government funded when it comes to our day to day running. All our revenue is reinvested back into the museum to enhance and grow our activity. We also rely on volunteers who give over 30,000 hours every year.
Steeped in history with sweeping sea views across Falmouth harbour, The Greenbank is an experience like no other. Moor up on the hotel’s private pontoons, dive into two-rosette worthy food, and enjoy the finest in four star coastal comfort.
The many reasons to visit (Besides The National Maritime Museum Cornwall of course) include: Fascinating maritime heritage, 4 world-class beaches; + many areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Our Learning team put on a brilliant range of brand new live performance, events and activities every school holidays.
