Congratulations George

At the Annual General Meeting 2016 of the Cornwall Heritage Trust, Colonel Edward Bolitho, President, presented the Sir Richard Trant Memorial Award for Heritage Champion 2016 to Captain George Hogg. Following 37 years in the Royal Navy Captain Hogg became the Honorary Curator of the Cornwall Maritime Museum Falmouth from 1993 until the creation of the National Maritime Museum in 1998 where he was one of the founding Trustees.

Well deserved

George is still an active Trustee and Volunteer at the NMMC where he has spent his time developing the Cornwall Galleries and the Bartlett Library working closely with his friend and colleague, Tony Pawlyn. During this time he has also created an extensive Maritime Archive. It was his commitment to the NMMC and the Bartlett Library that led to him being nominated for the Sir Richard Trant Memorial Award and he was deemed a very worthy winner by the judging panel.
