There is so much happening in 2020 at the Museum. From new blockbuster exhibitions to the best in family entertainment, next year is going to be the best yet. To give you a flavour of what we have in store here’s just five of our highlights to look forward to.
Monsters of the Deep
Opening Friday 20 March
Years in the planning, Monsters of the Deep is the Museum’s most ambitious exhibition to date. It examines the myths, legends, facts and folklore about the creatures that lurk at the bottom of the ocean. Find out more about Monsters of the Deep.
Yskynna’s Into the Deep Blue
Easter and Summer Holidays
Yskynna return to National Maritime Museum Cornwall in 2020 with their brand new show Into the Deep Blue. Set amongst the Museum’s flying flotilla, the aerial mermaids dance. It’ll be a breathtaking and beautiful show for all the family.
New Steam Boat Tours
Monday 4 May – Sunday 29 September
Our 1930’s motor launch Jonik will be back on the water again in 2020 but this time joined by Emma our steam launch. Take in Falmouth’s beautiful surroundings, learn more about the history of the area and enjoy being aboard a true boating gem.
Water Safety Weekend with the RNLI
Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 May
For one weekend only the RNLI are taking over the Museum with awesome games and demonstrations. There’ll be the chance to meet real RNLI lifeguards, hear more about their important work and learn techniques that will keep you safe on the beach.
Model Weekend Returns
Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November
After the hugely successful event in 2018 we’re looking forward to another weekend of stunning models, expert demonstrations and activities for all ages.
