From Monday 19 July England will move to the final stage of easing lockdown restrictions. We wanted to let you know what this means for NMMC and the changes we’re making.
We take the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff incredibly seriously. The decisions we’ve made have been carefully considered and will be continually reviewed over the next few weeks and months.
Pre-booked time slots
We will keep the timed slots and pre-booking system to encourage an even spread of visitors throughout the day. We have increased our daily capacity, carefully balancing what is best for visitor safety and comfort (as a priority) and the Museum’s financial sustainability.
Cleaning
Nothing has changed where our exhaustive cleaning regime is concerned. We’ll continue the deep cleaning of toilets and play areas as well as touchpoints throughout the Museum. The sanitisation stations will remain so you can take extra precautions – hand sanitiser and sanitisation wipes are available.
One-way route
The one-way route will remain – it is a great way to explore the entire Museum, ensuring you don’t miss a thing. We appreciate that not everyone likes to follow a one-way route so feel free to explore as you wish – whichever you do is good with us.
Face masks
We are actively encouraging our staff, volunteers and visitors to continue to wear a face covering in the Museum to help keep everyone in our building safe and well. There is a supply of masks at the admissions desk so you needn’t worry if you forget yours.
Ventilation
The building will remain well ventilated. Bear this in mind on a windy day – things can become chilly so we recommend bringing an extra layer or two.
Paying
We are now accepting cash at all tills
Thank you
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 18 months – it means so much.
