Falmouth Festive FREE Weekend 2022

On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December National Maritime Museum Cornwall is FREE to Cornish residents. Make sure you add the dates to your diary!

With festive crafting sessions, a Museum trail and live music – as well as all the usual museum favourites, it’s the perfect time to see why we’re Cornwall’s most visited museum.

Lanterns & Lights

Decked in festive lights and sparkly stars, traditional wooden boats carry Christmas cheer. Using the Flying Flotilla, hung high from the Museum’s ceiling, the boats are lit with subtle ocean coloured hues and set amongst glistening star bursts.

Two young girls take part in craft activities in the Museum.

Make & Take crafts

Create jellyfish and lanterns in Make & Take. Add your creations to our community boat and help make a wonderful artwork.

Museum Trail

Five creatures are hidden around the Museum – find them all to claim your prize.

Christmas cheer

On the Saturday we’re adding to the festive cheer with live music. See the Trengilly Singers at 10.30am and the Ukulele Orchestra of Constantine at 2pm.

Our Waterside Cafe will be serving up festive treats from 10.30am – 4.30pm. The Gift Shop, the perfect pitstop for Christmas gifts, is open 10am – 5pm, where you can also grab a bargain in our sale.

Packet Ship Talks

On Saturday at 11.30am and 1.30pm head to the Packet Gallery for a talk about the history of the packet service.

Live demonstrations

In the Boatbuilding Workshop see steam bending demonstrations and meet model boat makers too.
