Pirate Academy has now finished – thank you to everyone who joined us. See what’s on at National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
All aboard to join our pirate crew this Easter! Become a budding buccaneer with Rattlebox Theatre, create the necessary pirate accessories in Make & Take and join the Museum trail too.
Monday 3 – Friday 14 April (every Monday – Friday), 11am, 12pm, 2pm & 3pm.
In our fun-packed Easter holiday sessions with Rattlebox Theatre, learn what every budding buccaneer needs to know about becoming a pirate in the Golden Age of Piracy! There’s two different shows each day covering all the pirate essentials.
The first show will be a crash course in essential skills and pirate life – learn about your role and responsibilities aboard ship, the food and drink you might eat, the weapons used, the best medicines and, perhaps most importantly, the rules of the pirate code.
In the second show put all you’ve learnt to the test! Faced with real pirate situations and dilemmas help your new crew decide the best course of action. Will you sail towards victory and endless riches or be sent straight to Davy Jones’s Locker?
Saturday 1 – Sunday 16 April, 12.30pm – 3.30pm.
In Make & Take create the accessories you’ll need to become a true pirate of the high seas, including pirate hats, telescopes, parrots, cutlass’ and beards.
Saturday 1 – Sunday 16 April
Join the Museum trail and complete the pirate challenges to collect your certificate and officially join our pirate crew. Try tying knots, designing a treasure map, uncovering all the lost treasure chests and finding your parrot sidekick, plus more challenges along the way.
Explore 15 galleries over five floors, jump aboard boats, climb the 100-foot Lookout Tower, go underwater in the Tidal Zone, uncover ocean adventures and survival stories and sail miniature boats on the Waterfront Boat Pool. Plus, have fun in the brand-new Skull Island Play Zone, learn about Cornish maritime history in our Cornwall galleries and explore our latest major exhibition Pirates.
