Cornish Christmas Activities

07.11.23  –  By: Dan Aston  –  In: News, What's on

A red and white graphic with the words 'Cornish Christmas Activities'. There are festive illustrations and willow fish tree decorations in the background.

Immerse yourself in the best of what makes our beautiful part of the world sparkle at this magical time of year with Cornish Christmas Activities. Craft willow decorations, help Charlie Chough uncover Cornwall’s festive traditions in our Museum trail, and more.

Lobster Pot Christmas Tree

Wednesday 13 December – Wednesday 3 January

Feast your eyes on our beautiful willow lobster pot Christmas tree. The unique tree was constructed by Cadgwith fisherman Nigel Legge and decorated with plaster starfish made by Museum volunteers.

Two young girls take part in craft activities in the Museum.

Make & Take

Monday 18 December – Wednesday 3 January

11am – 4pm (last entry 3.30pm)

Join us in the Main Hall and make your own unique willow tree fish decoration. After Christmas Day, we’ll be crafting star wands for you to make wishes for the New Year!

Charlie Chough’s Christmas Trail

Wednesday 13 December – Wednesday 3 January

Charlie Chough is on the hunt to find out what makes a proper Cornish Christmas. Explore the Museum and help little Charlie discover fun things to do in Cornwall during this special time of year. The beautiful trail has been created in partnership with Cornwall-based illustrator Bex Bourne.

What else is here?

Explore 15 galleries over four floors, jump aboard boats, climb the 100-foot Lookout Tower, watch boat-building, go underwater in the Tidal Zone, discover stories of ocean adventures and survival, and sail miniature boats on the boat pool. What’s more, our scenic Waterfront Cafe serves tasty treats overlooking an unbeatable view of Falmouth Harbour.

It’s free!

Our Cornish Christmas Activities are FREE as part of the Museum’s annual admission fee. Pay once and get in free for a year.
