Immerse yourself in the best of what makes our beautiful part of the world sparkle at this magical time of year with A Cornish Christmas. Decorate our festive sailing boat, help Charlie Chough uncover Cornwall’s festive traditions in our Museum trail, and more.
Thursday 28 November – Sunday 5 January
Feast your eyes on our beautiful willow lobster pot Christmas tree. The unique tree was constructed by Cadgwith fisherman Nigel Legge and decorated with plaster starfish made by Museum volunteers.
Saturday 7 December – Sunday 5 January
Charlie Chough is on the hunt to find out what makes a proper Cornish Christmas. Explore the Museum and help little Charlie discover fun things to do in Cornwall during this special time of year.
Saturday 21 December – Sunday 5 January, 12.30am – 3.30pm (last entry 3.15pm)
Our little Cornish boat has a new illustrated sail, celebrating a very festive Falmouth. Help make the scene come alive by adding your own decoration, and of course make one to take home! Don’t forget to pop back after Christmas to transform the boat again with New Year wishes!
Our Cornish Christmas activities have been created in partnership with Cornwall-based illustrator Bex Bourne.
Explore 15 galleries over four floors, jump aboard boats, climb the 100-foot Lookout Tower, watch boat-building, go underwater in the Tidal Zone, discover stories of ocean adventures and survival, and sail miniature boats on the boat pool. What’s more, our scenic Waterfront Cafe serves tasty treats overlooking an unbeatable view of Falmouth Harbour.
A Cornish Christmas is FREE as part of the Museum’s annual admission fee. Pay once and get in free for a year.
