Dive into Falmouth Week 2025 with us

Falmouth Week Town-Wide Festivities

Since 1837, what began as a local sailing regatta has blossomed into one of the South West’s premier sailing competitions. The excitement kicks off with the vibrant Falmouth Carnival, setting the tone for ten days of celebration. Families can enjoy eclectic markets, creative workshops and soak up music from talented local musicians. As the sun sets, Southwest Bars and Events takes over with a full programme of evening entertainment, the evenings promise to be just as memorable as the days.

Don’t miss the spectacular highlights planned throughout the week: the whimsical Pink Wig Mermaid March, the amazing Red Arrows Air Display, and the grand Fireworks Spectacular that will light up Falmouth’s historic harbour.

Museum on the Moor Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 Aug

We’re taking the museum outside! Visit our pop-up Museum on The Moor on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 August, where you can get up close and hands-on with our fascinating Viking handling collection. It’s a perfect opportunity to discover maritime history while enjoying some of the Falmouth Week atmosphere.

Summer Adventures at National Maritime Museum Cornwall

Drop-in Craft Activities

Our daily Make & Take Home craft activities run from 12:30-3:15pm, giving families the chance to create something fun as a memento of their visit!

Celebrating 100 Years of Surfing

This summer, we’re proud to present SURF!, our major exhibition celebrating a century of waveriding in Cornwall. Discover how surfing culture has shaped our coastal communities and influenced generations of Cornish life. Alongside this, our community exhibition Surfing Memories invites visitors to share their own surf and surf holiday memories of Cornwall, creating a living archive of personal connections to our coastline.

A Special VJ Day Commemoration

On 15 August, we’re opening our boatbuilding workshop to commemorate VJ Day. This special access gives visitors a rare opportunity to step inside the workshop to take a closer look at the remarkable WW2 SN2 replica boat currently under construction. It’s a moving tribute to maritime history and it’s thanks to the generous support of a ‘Victory 80’ award, our WW2 S.N.2 Special Operations Executive (SOE) replica boat build project can uncover more about the role these boats played during the war. The award was funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and awarded by Museum Development South West with thanks to support from Arts Council England.
