It’s hard to believe that it’s been 20 years since building work started to create National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
The building was designed by architects Long and Kentish who worked alongside Land Design Studios to create the exhibition spaces within.
Constructed on a former boat building yard the design was inspired by the sites historic past and was clad in oak by master shipwrights. In 2003 the Duke of York opened the doors to the Museum and we have been welcoming visitors to enjoy our space ever since.
