Current vacancies

Café Shift Lead

Permanent, 20 hours a week.

Monday and Friday 9.30am-4.30pm and Saturday 9.30am-5.00pm

We are looking for a Shift Lead for our Waterside Café, who is responsible for overseeing the daily Café operation, ensuring excellent customer service is delivered, maintaining quality standards, and supporting team members, in the absence of the Café Supervisor.

You will have responsibility for supervising the Café team, ensuring all the daily checks are carried out, and in the absence of the Café Supervisor, order stock and provisions.

You will make a variety of drinks, including latte art, prepare food, carry out the opening and closing procedures, always maintaining cleanliness of the Café and food preparation areas.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy food and beverage environment, Barista trained, with the confidence to lead and supervise a team. You will be customer-focused with a positive, hands-on attitude.

Ideally you hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, but training can be provided.

Visitor Experience Volunteer

Voluntary position weekdays and/or weekends (unpaid)

Visitor Experience volunteers provide a warm and friendly welcome for our visitors whilst they explore the Museum. You’ll engage with visitors, providing supplementary, additional in-depth information about our exhibitions and activities, as well as providing helpful directions to our galleries, assisting visitors to discover the abundance of artifacts and hidden treasures within. You’ll provide a welcoming presence in our galleries interacting with visitors of all ages, helping to create an unforgettable day out for our visitors.
