About Surfers Against Sewage

We’re a charity of water lovers campaigning to protect the ocean and all it makes possible, by taking action on the ground that triggers change from the top.

For people to thrive and live life to the fullest, the ocean must thrive too. And so we need to confront all that threatens it. Plastic. Sewage. Industrial exploitation. Climate change. In building and connecting communities of Ocean Activists motivated to make a difference, we gather the evidence and give voice to the issues that hold leaders to account.

Together, we paddle. We petition. We protest. And from the beachfront to the frontbenches, our collective demands are being heard and action is being taken.

At Surfers Against Sewage we strongly believe that water users shouldn’t have to put their health at risk to enjoy our beautiful blue spaces. That’s why we created the Safer Seas and Rivers Service App. Our free mobile app provides real time sewage discharge and pollution alerts for 625 locations across the country and allows thousands of water users to safely enjoy their rivers and seas.

The Safer Seas and River Service app is a vital tool in the fight to save our oceans and rivers, helping us all to hold the polluters to account and stay safe in the water!
