Surfing Memories offers a unique snapshot into the personal and family memories of Cornish surf holidays – from tales of days gone by to more recent sun-soaked adventures. It brings together photos, films and objects that celebrate the traditional beach trip, all lent to the museum by the local community and visitors to the county.

Turning the pages of the albums, you’ll discover photographs of joy and laughter, hardship and hope through the decades. From splashing about in the surf on bodyboards to building sandcastles with a bucket and spade, the exhibition captures a unique and special story of how generations have experienced the Cornish coast.

Surfing Memories will continue to evolve and grow over its lifetime as more memories, photos, films and objects are shared by the community with the Museum.
