We’ve launched a Student Annual Pass at National Maritime Museum Cornwall. For just £12, students can enjoy unlimited visits for an entire year and make the most of an affordable day out in Falmouth.

Dive into our extensive collections exploring Cornwall’s rich maritime history. The Bartlett Library houses fascinating archives perfect for student research projects, while our exhibitions tell the stories of seafaring, boat-building, and coastal life that have shaped this region for centuries. 

If you haven’t experienced the flying flotilla of boats in the Boat Hall, it’s a memorable (and Instagram-worthy) display of our small boat collection. 

Experience the Tidal Zone 

Our Tidal Zone brings marine life right to your fingertips. Visit at high tide to see the incredible diversity of creatures that inhabit Cornwall’s waters, it’s a living, breathing lesson in marine biology and natural history.  

SURF! Exhibition Throughout 2026 

Our major exhibition SURF! continues throughout 2026, exploring surf culture and our relationship with the sea. It celebrates a century of surfing in Cornwall and reveals how we’ve become a global stage for surf innovation, activism and a trailblazer in blue health.

It also explores how Cornish surf culture has influenced music, film, fashion and art with unseen works by leading contemporary artists including Damien Hirst and Abigail Fallis.  

The Café: Your New Study Spot 

Arguably boasting the best views in Falmouth, our café offers free Wi-Fi, excellent hot chocolates, and a welcoming atmosphere. Bring your laptop for an afternoon of studying, though we can’t promise distraction-free writing when the harbour is alive with boats, ferries, and maritime activity just outside the window. 

Get Hands-On at the Boat Pool 

Fancy trying your hand at sailing? Our miniature sailboat boat pool lets you test your skills or simply have fun on the water. It’s the perfect study break.

How It Works 

Pay the £12 student admission fee with valid student ID, and you’ll receive an Annual Pass valid for 12 months. Visit once, twice, or twenty times within a year, it’s totally up to you.
