This Easter we are inviting young adventurers and their families to step back in time and experience the epic world of the Vikings Friday 3 April – Sunday 19 April 2025.
From daring sea voyages and fierce battle skirmishes to ancient crafts and mythic gods in glorious chaos, Viking Quest is a packed programme of Norse adventure running throughout the Easter holidays. Whether your explorer is drawn to combat, trade, storytelling or craft, there’s a quest waiting for every kind of Viking.
What’s On?
Become a Viking Explorer runs every day from 10am to 5pm. Discover an incredible Viking Faering boat in the Museum’s Viking encampment, get hands-on with authentic objects, and explore the extraordinary seafaring world of Vikings. You might even meet a real Viking along the way.
Every day between 12.30pm and 3.30pm, the Make & Take activities gives young Vikings the chance to craft their own helmet and shield to take home as a battle-worthy souvenir.
Running alongside both of these is the Viking Trader Trail, where young explorers become Viking traders charting a course to distant lands. Every choice shapes the adventure and the fortune!
Special Events
On selected dates throughout the holidays, Viking Talks & Demonstrations bring authentic reenactment groups from across Cornwall to the Museum. Watch weapons demonstrations, hear ancient stories, and witness Viking culture brought to life right before your eyes.
Rattlebox and Angel Heart Theatre present The Misadventures of Thor, a puppet show full of giggles, gasps and Norse gods in a right pickle. Tall, brave and strong, but none too bright, Thor’s hapless blunders make for a wonderfully chaotic family show on selected dates.
And for the youngest adventurers, Kiddie Vike on 11–12 April and 18–19 April offers children under 10 the chance to take part in a miniature Viking battle, a taste of warrior life.
Free with Museum Admission
Viking Quest activities are included as part of standard Museum admission, which gives you free entry for a whole year from your visit date (so you can return for more Viking adventures throughout the holidays!).
Head to the Viking Quest event page for full timetables, activity details and to book your visit, save 10% when you book in advance.
