A sailboard/windsurfer dating from around 1985, a model which can be seen as following on from the Ten Cate model (see Ten Cate Windsurfer BAE0111). This board was manufactured by the French company Dufour and was a very popular design in its day. It was this popularity that encouraged BiC, the French ballpoint pen manufacturer, to get involved with windsurfing by providing serious financial sponsorship for the sport. It is largely thanks to their initial support that windsurfing became a truly global sport.
BiC eventually bought Dufour and continued production of sailboards sold under the BiC name. They are still in production today.
