Our intimate exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Sunbeam one-design keelboat racing in Falmouth ran from Friday 28 June 2024 until Sunday 8 June 2025, and has now ended.
Sunbeams hold a special place in the hearts of all who sail them. Renowned for their upwind performance and precision, it’s said there’s nothing quite like a Sunbeam.
The exhibition featured photographs through the ages, video interviews, and fascinating objects including Flushing Sailing Club’s first logbook of Sunbeam races.
Sunbeam 100 was produced in collaboration with Falmouth Sunbeam Class Association.
Explore 15 galleries over five floors, jump aboard boats, climb the 100-foot Lookout Tower, go underwater in the Tidal Zone, uncover ocean adventures and survival stories and sail miniature boats on the Boat Pool. Plus, have fun in Skull Island Play Zone and learn about Cornish maritime history in our Cornwall galleries.
