Running daily from Saturday 23 May to Sunday 31 May 2026, Shore Safari invites families to delve into the secret world of rock pools at National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth.
This May half term, the Museum teams up with The Rock Pool Project, whose experts will be on hand with a mobile rock pool every day sharing Shore Safari tips.
Visitors can discover the curious creatures found on the Cornish coast, learn the best ways to safely explore rock pools, and identify the sea life in local waters.
Families can also get creative in special Make & Take crafting sessions every day, creating their own rock pool artwork, and join in with the Museum trail to find creatures hiding in ‘rockpools’ around the Museum.

May half term activities are FREE as part of standard Museum admission. One standard admission payment grants free return visits for a full year and under 5’s visit free.
Beyond Shore Safari activities, visitors can explore 15 galleries over five floors.
Go below sea level and put your new Shore Safari knowledge to the test spotting marine life pass by at high tide. Climb the 100-foot Lookout Tower or climb aboard RNLI Rescue vehicles, and discover the Museum’s colourful SURF! exhibition.
Book your visit online in advance for 10% saving on standard admission.
