February Half Term

Join us this February half term for Science of the Sea – family fun with a BANG! Live shows, Make and Takes and a bubble Museum trail.

Saturday 22 February

After exploring the sea man turned his attention to the sky. Join us as we discover how via a special Museum trail how scientists, astronomers and Captain Cook all embarked on a mission to answer the question, how big is the Universe?

This May half term we’re taking the Trail offsite and online with The Rock Pool Project. Discover how to rock pool safely, how to identify creatures and how to look after their environment in our trail.

Summer holidays

The beautiful song from the ocean’s brightest pearl rolls on the waves and laps on the tide. Her tail shimmers in the sun as she dives and dances with her friend’s deep below the sea’s surface.

We are delighted to host a series of Monster Talks by speakers who are leaders in their field. The talks are in association with our current major exhibition Monsters of the Deep.

On Monday 22 November 1869, 150 years ago, the Cutty Sark, one of the world’s most famous historic ships, was launched in Scotland. Our new exhibition celebrates the Cutty Sark’s time moored in the town.
