This Spring half term The Rock Pool Project are helping us discover more from the rock pools along our Cornish coast.

Award-winning author, archaeologist and film maker John Henry Phillips recounts the incredible true story of D-Day veteran Patrick Thomas.

Wednesday 19 & Thursday 20 October, 10am – 4pm.

Join boatbuilder Gail McGarva for a two day workshop that brings to life the craft of traditional wooden boat building and the stories of endangered boats.

Each year the Museum is offered many small boats for its collection. The majority of candidates tend to be traditional wooden craft, under 30ft (9.144m) long, propelled by oar, sail or motor. Recently however, we were offered, and accepted into the collection the prototype of a hi-tech, wave powered vessel, the AutoNaut.

This month sees the opening of the Coastguard 200 exhibition at National Maritime Museum Cornwall and this blog is dedicated to the rescue work of HM Coastguard on their 200th anniversary
